To the fit young man with big dangly earrings and a tiny striped tank who was ranting on the Q train last night: I’ve decided to meet you halfway. Although my toes may still be able to “snatch salmon from the stream,” I have at least repainted them. Please understand, though, I’m still going to wear sandals—as it is just too hot right now for closed-toe shoes. I hope this enables us to continue living in the same city in peace.
Ah. It’s good to be back in NYC!
